For 45 minutes, Canada dared to dream.

A dominant first half over one of the top 10 teams in the world. It just lacked a goal to make their dominance count. 

But the Canadians couldn’t quite find that opening, a dogged Moroccan back line blunting their attack.

In the end the scoreline very much flattered Morocco, who relied on a moment of set-piece magic and classic counter-attacks for their three goals in the second half. They were far from their best — Canada denied them that — but took their chances. That was the difference today.
